Marwari Sammelan Show of Strength in Deoghar; Major Decisions Approved, Including Formation of 'Mahapanchayat'
Deoghar: Several significant decisions regarding strengthening the organization, amending the constitution, expanding the organization, and formulating future action plans were taken during the third working committee meeting of the Jharkhand Provincial Marwari Sammelan. Hosted by the Deoghar District Marwari Sammelan at the Jain Temple complex, the meeting saw the participation of over 150 delegates from various districts across the state—including Ranchi, East Singhbhum, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Giridih, Jamtara, and Deoghar—with 25 delegates attending from Ranchi district alone.
The meeting commenced with a welcome address by Ashok Dalmia, President of the Deoghar District Marwari Sammelan, followed by an address from Suresh Chandra Agarwal, Provincial President of the Jharkhand Provincial Marwari Sammelan. Subsequently, the proceedings of the previous working committee meeting were ratified, leave of absence was approved, and the annual report was presented by Provincial General Secretary Vinod Jain. It was unanimously approved to present the audited income-expenditure statement for the year 2025-26 before the General Assembly. Vice-presidents, zonal vice-presidents, district presidents, and branch presidents also presented reports on their respective activities during the meeting.
Proposals for constitutional amendments underwent detailed discussion within the working committee and were passed with necessary modifications. Approval was granted for the formation of a 'Mahapanchayat' (Grand Council), and a consensus was reached to appoint former Rajya Sabha MP Mahesh Poddar as its convener. Additionally, a decision was made to constitute a Board of Trustees for Asset Protection.
A serious discussion took place regarding the alleged irregular transfer of the Sammelan's office and a sum of approximately ₹25 lakh into a trust. Trust office-bearers were given until August 31 to present a resolution to this issue. It was further clarified that the organization would be compelled to initiate legal action if a satisfactory resolution is not reached within the stipulated timeframe.
In his address, Provincial President Suresh Chandra Agarwal stated that the Sammelan's primary objective is to strengthen the organization by uniting every individual in the community. He stated that only an organized community can effectively advance social, cultural, and service-oriented initiatives. Describing the 'Rajasthan Mahotsav'—organized by the East Singhbhum District Marwari Sammelan at Gopal Maidan, Jamshedpur—as a historic event, he commended the efforts of District President Mukesh Mittal and his entire team.
The East Singhbhum District Marwari Sammelan was honored for its outstanding work in organizational expansion, having enrolled the highest number of members in the state. Following the meeting, all delegates visited Baba Baidyanath Dham and Shri Shyam Mandir to offer prayers and seek prosperity for the community, the organization, and the nation.
Several representatives attended the meeting, including Provincial Senior Vice President Lalit Kumar Poddar, Pawan Kumar Poddar, Vinod Jain, Manoj Chaudhary, Kamal Kumar Kedia, Rajendra Kedia, Sajjan Padia, Subhash Patwari, Ramashankar Bagaria, Raman Boda, Vijay Kumar Khowal, Sunil Poddar, Suresh Chaudhary, Rajkumar Mittal, Ajay Didwania, Neha Patwari, and Chetan Kumar.
Sanjay Sarraf, Joint General Secretary and Spokesperson of the Jharkhand Provincial Marwari Sammelan, stated that the decisions taken by the executive committee would prove significant in making the organization stronger, more transparent, and more effective.
