India–Nepal Divyang T-20 Cricket Series to Begin in Ranchi from December 13

Ranchi will once again host an international cricket event, as the India–Nepal Divyang T-20 Cricket Series (Champion Spirit Cup) is scheduled to take place from December 13 to 15 at the Amitabh Choudhary Cricket Stadium, Angara. The three-match T-20 series is being organized by the Jharkhand Disabled Cricket Association and Round Table India (RT-244, 160, 284), with recognition from the Divyang Cricket Control Board of India.

Round Table India Ranchi Chapter 244 President Akash Khosla said that such tournaments must be encouraged, adding that Round Table India primarily works in the field of education for underprivileged children and has built more than 10,000 classrooms across the country. He said that inclusion of persons with disabilities is also a major focus of the organization.

The series is being sponsored mainly by Round Table India, Jharkhand Education Project Council, CCL, and the Government of Jharkhand. Support is also coming from NTPC, HP, CMPDI, Megha Milk, Jharkhand Viklang Jan Forum, Leeds, Seva Sadan Koderma, Jharcraft, PNB Bank, Aasha, and various other local institutions.

Under the captaincy of Suvro Joradar, the Indian team includes Mahantesh Chaluvari (Vice-Captain), Nafees Siddiqui, Kailash Prasad, Jameer Pathan, Anwar Muqtar Ansari, Sajid Kareem Tamboli, Dharmendra Kumar, Syed Shah Aziz, Aqib Malik, Rahul Sharma, Suraj Mankale, Md. Shaukat Ali, Jitendra Kumar Yadav, Mahesh Kumar Agli, Shyam Chakwa, and Ranchi players Vijay Kumar Mahato and Chandan Lohra.

DCCBI President Mukesh Kanchan informed that the Nepal team will arrive on December 12. He said Nepal’s team is strong and competitive, and India will not take them lightly.
Jharkhand Disabled Cricket Association President Rahul Mehta thanked all sponsors and expressed hope that the media will present this event not just as a game, but as a major step towards inclusion of persons with disabilities.

Entry to the matches, to be held at the Usha Martin University campus, will be free for spectators.

Association patron Ramesh Singh said that government and industry bodies must provide greater support to such initiatives. Chief coordinator Pranav Kumar Babbu informed that all matches will begin at 11:00 AM. Due to financial constraints, no cash prizes have been kept for the series.

Sarita Sinha, Jagdish Singh Jaggu, Antu Tirkey, Priyanka Ghosh, Mukesh Kumar, and others have contributed significantly to the event’s organization.
