Biometric Attendance System Defunct for Months at CCL’s Piparwar Ashok OCP Office
Billing and Other Key Office Operations Affected Due to Non-Functional Machines
Piparwar: At the Ashok OCP office under CCL’s Piparwar area, the biometric attendance system installed for employees has been lying defunct for several months. Around five to six biometric machines were set up in the office, but all of them have stopped working due to prolonged technical issues.
The long-pending malfunctioning of these machines is directly affecting several important office functions. Tasks such as billing, salary-related file processing, attendance verification, and monitoring of punctuality are being disrupted. Employees are compelled to mark attendance through a manual register, raising concerns about transparency and discipline.
According to staff members, repeated complaints have been made, yet no substantial action has been taken to repair or replace the machines. As a result, routine administrative work is getting delayed and overall efficiency is declining.
Local officials state that the issue has been reported to higher management, and a resolution is expected soon. Employees and union representatives have also demanded that the biometric system be restored at the earliest to ensure smooth and transparent office operations.
