BJP spokesperson Geeta Koda stated in a press release issued on Wednesday that the Asia-famous Saranda forest is facing a serious crisis today, but the Jharkhand government and the ministerial group are only making lip service. She added that two members of the ministerial group are themselves from the tribal community, yet they are attempting to mislead the public and conceal their failures.
Geeta Koda alleged that if JMM ministers, MLAs, and MPs were truly sensitive to the interests of Saranda, they would have taken action years ago. He said that now that the matter has reached the Supreme Court, a hurried public meeting and public hearing are being held to show off.
Calling the government's attitude anti-people, he questioned, "Where were the government and the group of ministers when Saranda's existence was under threat? A formal visit just days before the court hearing cannot be considered in the public interest."
The BJP spokesperson said that due to the government's negligence, Saranda's water, forest, land, and traditional rights are now in danger. He said that the people of Saranda have now understood the government's true nature, and the BJP stands firmly with them in this struggle.
