Preparations Complete for Engineering Services Main Exam; Test to be Held at Bariatu Center on June 21


Ranchi: The Engineering Services Main Examination, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), will take place on June 21, 2026, at the Government Girls' +2 High School in Bariatu, Ranchi. A total of 74 candidates will appear for the examination.


A meeting chaired by Divisional Commissioner Manoj Kumar was held to review the preparations for the exam. During the meeting, necessary instructions were issued to officials and staff to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination.


The Commissioner directed that all essential facilities—including drinking water, electricity, and seating arrangements—be made available at the exam center on time. The examination will be conducted in two shifts: the first shift from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and the second shift from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.


He stated that no other events would be organized at the exam center on June 20 and 21. Concerned officials will be responsible for the timely delivery of question papers to the center and the secure deposit of answer sheets at the GPO after the conclusion of the exam.


Strict security arrangements will be implemented at the exam center. A static magistrate along with a police force will be deployed at the center. Candidates will undergo a security check (frisking) using metal detectors before entry. Arrangements have also been made for the deployment of both male and female police personnel.


The Commissioner directed all local inspecting officers to visit the center a day prior to the exam to verify all arrangements. Candidates' identities will be verified by cross-checking their admit cards against their identity proofs. No candidate will be permitted to enter the exam center with electronic devices.


He emphasized that all UPSC guidelines must be strictly adhered to, and no negligence would be tolerated. All officials must discharge their duties with honesty and responsibility.


The meeting was attended by the Commissioner's Secretary Alok Kumar, the Sergeant Major, deputed officials, teachers from schools and colleges, and other concerned officials.
