INS Sudarshini Reaches Lisbon During Lokayan 2026 Voyage
Lisbon, August 23: Indian Navy’s sail training ship INS Sudarshini arrived in Lisbon, Portugal, on August 22 as part of its ongoing Lokayan 2026 transoceanic expedition.
The three-masted sailing ship entered Lisbon through the Tagus River, showcasing India’s traditional sailing and maritime skills.
During its stay, the crew and trainees will participate in professional exchanges, cross-deck visits and cultural programmes with Portuguese naval officials, local authorities and members of the Indian diaspora.
The Lisbon visit is the 15th port call of INS Sudarshini during its seven-month voyage. The visit highlights India’s longstanding maritime connections and its commitment to strengthening friendship, cooperation and goodwill with partner nations.
Through Lokayan 2026, INS Sudarshini continues to promote India’s maritime heritage and strengthen naval and people-to-people ties with countries around the world.
