'Women Power' is the foundation of India's development: Prime Minister Modi

Madhya Pradesh/Dhar : Describing women power as the true foundation of India's development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to mothers and sisters across the country to shed their inhibitions and attend health camps for free checkups. He said that no government treasury is more valuable than their good health.

The Prime Minister was addressing a large gathering in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, on Wednesday after launching the 'Healthy Women Empowered Family' campaign and 'National Nutrition Month'. He said that if the mother is healthy, the entire family remains healthy, but if the mother falls ill, the entire household collapses. He said that the initiatives launched today are not only for the current generation, but also for the children and future citizens yet to be born. He said, "Ensuring that children are born healthy lays the foundation for their future well-being and prosperity. This work is a blessing not just for one generation but for countless generations."

Modi also praised the Prime Minister's Motherhood Mission, launched in 2017 to reduce maternal and infant mortality. He mentioned the Vandana Yojana. He explained that five thousand rupees are deposited directly into the bank accounts of beneficiary mothers for the birth of their first child and six thousand rupees for the birth of their second daughter. So far, more than 45 million pregnant mothers have benefited from this scheme, and approximately 19 thousand crore rupees have been transferred directly to their accounts.

The Prime Minister appealed to mothers and sisters across the country to shed their hesitation and attend health camps for free checkups. He said, "No matter how expensive the tests are, they will all be free. No government treasury is more valuable than your good health. The Ayushman card is your security shield. Lakhs of camps are going to be set up, and I also urge my brothers to ensure their mothers, sisters, and daughters get their health checked."

The Prime Minister said that India's women power, youth power, the poor, and farmers are the four main pillars of India's journey towards a developed India. He mentioned initiatives like "Lakhpati Didi," "Bank Sakhi," "Drone Didi," the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and the Mudra Yojana. These schemes are working to empower the poor, women, and farmers.

He stated that India must become a developed nation by 2047, and that women will play a crucial role in this. Attention to maternal and child health, education, employment, and self-reliance are the foundations of a developed India.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister commemorated the birth anniversary of Lord Vishwakarma and paid homage to him, calling him the god of skill development. Referring to the valor of Maharaja Bhoj and the blessings of Goddess Vagdevi, he said that India's cultural heritage imparts the message of national defense and self-confidence.

He stated that the laying of the foundation stone for the country's largest integrated textile park in Dhar on Vishwakarma Jayanti is historic. He stated that this park will invigorate India's textile industry, ensure fair prices for farmers, and provide large-scale employment to the youth.

Referring to Operation Sindoor in his speech, the Prime Minister said that terrorists from Pakistan stole the sindoor from Indian sisters and daughters. had dared to destroy it. He said in a firm voice, “Our brave soldiers destroyed terrorist hideouts and brought Pakistan to its knees in the blink of an eye. This is the new India, which is not afraid of threats but responds home-to-home.”

Recalling the historic event of Hyderabad Liberation Day, he said that Hyderabad was liberated from atrocities due to the steely will of Sardar Patel and the courage of the Indian Army. The Prime Minister said, “For many decades, this glorious event was forgotten, but our government has immortalized it as ‘Hyderabad Liberation Day.’”

Referring to the festive season, the Prime Minister urged citizens to adopt indigenous products. He said, “Whatever you buy should contain the sweat of some Indian. It should have the smell of our country's soil. This is the right path to a self-reliant India.”

Giving a new mantra, he said that every shop should display a board: “Say with pride, this is indigenous.”

Modi stated that from September 22nd, Lower GST rates are going to be implemented. When the new rates come into effect on the first day of Navratri, we should take advantage of this by buying indigenous goods.
