Jharkhand/Ranchi: Durga Puja is in full swing in Ranchi. A variety of puja pandals have been erected along the main roads: Main Road, Ratu Road, Kokar Road, Tagore Hill Road, Railway Station, Harmu Chowk, and Argora Chowk Shahid Ka areas.
Even before the pandals, the glittering ceiling lights decorated with various flowers are attracting devotees. Colorful lights have been installed on both sides of the road. The pandals are adorned with glittering lights in the shape of various gods and goddesses. In Kokar, 15 archways, decorated with lights, have been erected as main gates from Kokar Chowk to the Lord Birsa Munda Samadhi Sthal. Each gate depicts the magnificent form of Goddess Durga. The trident, damru, figures of Lord Shiva, Parvati, and Nandi are adorned with colorful lighting, attracting crowds of devotees.
Vikas Das, president of the Kokar Durga Puja Committee, said that the grand lighting of the trident and damaru in Kokar was ordered from Chandan Nagar in Bengal. The area from Kokar Chowk to the Samadhi site has been decorated with side boxes and ceiling lights, in addition to the archway. He added that a total of 15 archways have been illuminated to depict images of Lord Shiva, Vishnu, Goddess Durga, and other deities.
