West Bengal/Kolkata: The teacher recruitment examination for class 11 and 12 of the School Service Commission (SSC) is going to be held today on Sunday. Politics has heated up once again just before the examination. The ruling party and the opposition have come face to face on the issue of question paper 'sale' and alleged 'audio tape'.
On Sunday, September 7, two days before the 9th and 10th examinations, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Shubhendu Adhikari had claimed that the SSC question paper was being sold for Rs 50 thousand. He also said that he has an audio related to Basirhat. However, the veracity of this audio has not been confirmed.
Just before the examination, on Saturday, Education Minister Bratya Basu took a dig at the opposition by rejecting its allegations. He said, "Show proof of question paper leak, show audio tape. The opposition leader had said that they will show video, audio footage and question paper fraud, but nothing has come out so far." Bratya Basu said that the examination is being conducted with complete transparency under the leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He said, "Lakhs of candidates are giving the examination trusting the Chief Minister. Mamata Banerjee will hand over the appointment letter to them. Appointment will be done only on the basis of merit." Two lakh 46 thousand 527 candidates will appear in the examination to be held today. 478 centers have been set up for the examination, while a total of 12 thousand 514 vacant posts are to be filled at the 11th-12th level. The commission has clarified that there is no provision of cloakroom at many centers. Therefore, candidates have been appealed not to come to the examination center wearing valuables or jewelry. It is mandatory for all candidates to bring a transparent pen (in which the refill is visible from outside). Pens will be provided at the centre if needed.
There will be a security check at the gate of the examination centre. During this time, candidates must have an admit card and an identity card (such as Aadhaar card or voter card).
Last Sunday, about 10 percent of the candidates appeared in the 9th and 10th exams from states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. On this, the Education Minister said, "This proves that there are no employment opportunities in BJP-ruled states. Youth from there are coming here to take the exam. We will not insult anyone on the basis of language or state. The Constitution of India gives us the right to recognize all languages and welcome everyone. If Mamata Banerjee gives employment to the youth coming from outside, then it is a big victory.
