Jharkhand/Ranchi : On Monday, the seventh day of Sharadiya Navratri, Maa Kaalratri, the seventh form of Maa Durga, was worshipped with devotion and reverence in various puja pandals, temples, and homes across the capital Ranchi.
The worship of Maa Kaalratri holds special significance during Navratri. This form of Maa Durga teaches us that with faith and courage, all darkness can be overcome. Worshiping Maa Kaalratri on Mahasaptami of Navratri bestows upon devotees freedom from fear, courage, peace from the ill effects of Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu, and divine knowledge. The fierce form of Maa Kaalratri teaches us that the darkness of ignorance, fear, and sin can only be destroyed by the Goddess's grace.
The brilliance of Sharadiya Navratri is being witnessed in the capital Ranchi. For the past three to four days, despite the rain, devotees have been visiting the numerous puja pandals across Ranchi to seek the blessings of Goddess Durga. Crowds of devotees are thronging the pandals at night, more so than during the day. Special lighting decorations have been added to the pandals, enhancing their beauty. Devotees are arriving with their families at the fairs held near the puja pandals and shopping for various items.
On Tuesday, on the occasion of Maha Ashtami, Mata Mahagauri will be worshipped with rituals. On Maha Ashtami, women observe a fast for Mata Mahagauri, fasting all day, and then worship her in the evening. On this occasion, devotees offer her cosmetics and pray for eternal happiness.
