‘Save the Girl Child’ Candle March Sets Out from Sadar Hospital, Conveying a Message of Respect for Daughters
Ranchi, March 14: A candle march was organized, commencing from the premises of Sadar Hospital, Ranchi, under the banner of the "Save the Girl Child" campaign. The initiative aimed to raise awareness regarding the safety, dignity, and rights of daughters. The event was presided over by Civil Surgeon Dr. Prabhat Kumar.
The candle march saw the participation of District Program Manager Praveen Kumar Singh, Dr. Amresh, Rakesh Rai, along with numerous healthcare workers and students from the ANM School. Together, they raised public awareness by chanting slogans such as "Beti Bachao – Beti Padhao" (Save the Daughter – Educate the Daughter).
Speaking on the occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Prabhat Kumar stated that daughters are an invaluable asset to society. He emphasized that every section of society must step forward to ensure their safe birth, education, and dignity. He further added that such awareness programs would foster gender equality and help curb social evils such as female feticide.
