Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court has directed the State Government to strictly enforce the Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Act, 2010. While disposing of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Ranchi resident Ranjiv Ranjan, a division bench comprising Chief Justice M.S. Sonak and Justice Deepak Roshan observed that no hospital, nursing home, or clinic in the state should be permitted to operate without registration. The Court directed the Director of Health Services to submit a detailed compliance report regarding the implementation of the Act within four months. Furthermore, it directed the State Clinical Establishments Council to prepare a register of all hospitals and clinics, keep it updated, and update the National Register by submitting digital returns on a monthly basis. Directives were also issued to strengthen the system of regular inspections at the district level.
