71st National Film Awards ceremony today, President to felicitate winners

 


New Delhi: The 71st National Film Awards winners will be honored today at a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan. President Draupadi Murmu will felicitate the winners. Shah Rukh Khan and Vikrant Massey will receive the Best Actor award for the film "Jawaan" and "12th Fail," while Rani Mukerji will receive the Best Actress award for "Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway." Malayalam actor Mohanlal will be honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award at the same ceremony.

The winners of the 2023 National Film Awards were announced on August 1st this year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the National Film Awards are being presented two years late.

The National Film Award winners will be honored at a grand ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan. The ceremony will begin at 4 pm, with President Draupadi Murmu felicitating the winners. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav will also be present. The event will be broadcast live on Doordarshan or YouTube.

Best Direction – Sudipto Sen for “The Kerala Story”; Best Actor – Shah Rukh Khan for “Jawan” and Vikrant Mass for “12th Fail”; Best Actress – Rani Mukerji for “Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway”; Best Hindi Film – “Kathal”

Best Popular Film – “Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani”; Dadasaheb Phalke Award – Mohanlal, renowned Malayalam actor

It is noteworthy that the National Film Awards include the Golden Lotus and Silver Lotus. The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is presented with a Golden Lotus, a prize of ₹10 lakh, a citation, and a shawl.

Best Feature Film – Golden Lotus and ₹2.5 lakh, a citation; Silver Lotus and ₹1.5 lakh. Best Film on Social Issues – Silver Lotus and ₹1.5 lakh. Best Children's Film – Golden Lotus and ₹1.5 lakh. Silver Lotus Award and ₹1 lakh for the best film. Silver Lotus Award and ₹50,000 for the best actor and actress.
