Ranchi: An urgent meeting was held under the chairmanship of RIMS Director Prof (Dr) Raj Kumar to prepare for any contingency in view of the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan. Many decisions were taken unanimously in the meeting.
For the availability of beds, 50 beds were identified in the New Trauma Center, Paying Ward and Cottage and it was talked about increasing it as per the need and the facility of monitor and oxygen will be available in all 50 beds. It was decided to form a Multi Disciplinary Team, in which doctors and residents will be available. Two in Neuro Surgery, two in Surgery, two in Orthopedics Department, two in Medicine Department, one in Plastic Surgery, two in Ophthalmology Department, two in Ear Nose and Throat Department, two in Anesthesia Department, four doctors and residents, two Maxillofacial surgeons from Dental, six in GDMO. Apart from this, this team will ensure availability for medical and administrative work as per the need. 50 staff nurses, 50 paramedical staff, 15 wheel chairs and 16 trolleys will be kept in reserve to deal with contingencies. 24X7 availability of medicines, surgical items and other items will be ensured in all stores. This Multi Disciplinary Team will keep the Director informed with updated reports by holding daily meetings.
Medical Superintendent in charge, Additional Medical Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent- 1, Deputy Superintendent- 2, Trauma Center in charge, Administrative Officer, Procurement Officer were present in the meeting.
