⚽Ranchi to Become a Football Hub; Chief Minister Invited to the Inaugural Ceremony of Durand Cup 2026
Ranchi: Preparations are in full swing for the inaugural ceremony of the 135th Durand Cup 2026, the country's most prestigious football tournament. In this connection, Mukesh Kumar (Secretary, Department of Tourism, Art, Culture, Sports & Youth Affairs), Chhavi Ranjan (Director of Sports), Major General Sajjan Singh Mann (General Officer Commanding, 23 IBG), and officials from the Durand Cup organizing committee paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Hemant Soren at his Kanke Road residence-cum-office.
During the meeting, the officials formally invited the Chief Minister to attend the inaugural ceremony and the opening match of the 135th Durand Cup—scheduled to commence in Ranchi on July 26, 2026—as the chief guest.
