Silt will be removed from Madhukam Pond: Corporation

 

Jharkhand/Ranchi: In view of the Chhath festival, the Municipal Corporation has begun cleaning the city's ponds and ghats. Administrator Sushant Gaurav, while inspecting the Madhukam Pond, announced that the silt would be removed. He directed the use of alum and bleaching powder to keep the water clean. He also directed that the ghat steps be thoroughly cleaned. He also directed that barricades be erected around the pond to ensure the safety of devotees. The Administrator appealed to people not to throw garbage or filth into the pond. He stated that action would be taken against those who do so. Meanwhile, Deputy Administrator Gautam Prasad Sahu inspected the city pond (Ward 10). He directed that a boundary wall be built around the pond, regular cleaning be done, and streetlights be repaired.

The Corporation will initiate development projects on 11 acres of vacant land in the Madhukam area

Municipal Administrator Sushant Gaurav inspected the Madhukam area and the pond on Tuesday. Several corporation officials were present with him.

During the inspection, he inspected over 11 acres of municipal land, including residential areas, vegetable markets, toilets, and vacant land.

He directed officials to prepare a new master plan for the entire area and quickly formulate a redevelopment plan. Upon observing the poor condition of the Madhukam vegetable market, the administrator stated that it would be cleaned and organized to provide easy access to vendors. He also directed officials to install dustbins in the market, ensure daily cleaning, and assign designated locations for all vendors. The administrator directed the removal of illegal shops and encroachments in the area, as well as the cleaning of clogged drains. He also directed officials to repair streetlights and take action against those encroaching on municipal land.

Deputy Administrator Gautam Prasad Sahu, the city manager, engineers, and several employees were present during the inspection.
