Raids on meat shops in Lohardaga ahead of Holi and Ramjan, six fined
Lohardaga, March 1, 2026: In view of Holi and Ramjan, Food Safety Officer Dr. Moin Akhtar, under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner, conducted surprise inspections of meat, chicken, and fish shops in various areas of the district. Violations of the provisions of the Food Safety Act 2006 and Regulations 2011 were found at several shops located at Maina Bagh, Powerganj Chowk, Bagdu Mod, and New Road. Messrs. Janta Mutton, Lohardaga Mutton, Tausif Chicken, Chhotu Chicken, Gulshan Mutton, and Jharkhand Mutton Shop were fined ₹3,500 under Section 59. A 15-point notice was issued to the operators, instructing them to maintain cleanliness, safe storage, registration, and adhere to standards. The campaign will continue.
