Indian border sealed amid ongoing political crisis in Nepal

Bihar/Patna/Araria/Sitamarhi: After the political crisis that arose in Nepal after the 'Jane Ji' performance, the Nepali Army has taken over the command. The Nepali Army is continuously patrolling from Jogbani to Viratnagar, the India-Nepal border. Curfew has been imposed in many areas of Terai for an indefinite period, due to which people are forced to stay in their homes.

In Bihar, Nepal Army vehicles are running from the border area adjoining Nepal to Viratnagar, Duhbi, Ithari, Dharan, Rajbiraj, Kaptanganj, Diwanganj and Rangeli etc. and through mikes, people are being informed about the indefinite curfew and are being asked to stay in their homes.

The Nepali Army came out on the road with vehicles on Wednesday morning and closed the shops and establishments open in the market. Shopkeepers and businessmen were instructed by the Nepali Army to keep their shops and establishments closed.

Here, the Indian border was sealed due to the situation in Nepal. A large number of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel have been deployed on the border. Intensive patrolling is being done on the border by SSB personnel.

Araria District Magistrate Anil Kumar, Superintendent of Police Anjani Kumar, SSB 56th Battalion Commandant Shashwat Kumar and SSB 52nd Battalion Commandant Mahendra Pratap took stock of the security arrangements in different border areas adjacent to Araria. Police of police stations and outposts adjacent to the India-Nepal border are continuously patrolling the Indian border area while being on high alert.

Regarding the incident of breaking the Jaleshwar jail of Nepal adjacent to Sitamarhi district in Bihar, Sitamarhi District Magistrate Richie Pandey said that after the jail break incident, a meeting was held between SSB, police and all investigation agencies. Security has been increased in the areas adjacent to Nepal. Security personnel are continuously patrolling the entire border. Movement of people from Nepal has been stopped. Only ambulances and Indians stranded in Nepal are allowed to enter after somehow reaching the border and checking their identity cards.

After Nepal Army took over the command, the destroyed police posts and check posts etc. located on the border are being repaired. Army personnel along with labourers are busy in arranging out posts etc. for checking and entry of every person coming and going on the Indo-Nepal border. In the Indian area, SSB personnel are keeping an eye on all situations and providing information to the headquarters every moment.

Commandant of SSB 56th Battalion Shashwat Kumar said that SSB is fully alert. The personnel are constantly keeping an eye on the border. Nepali citizens are not being allowed to enter from anywhere. Entry is being allowed only after checking, checking identity cards and recording their entries under essential services. He said that SSB personnel and officers should be kept on high alert to deal with any kind of disturbance.

Araria District Magistrate Anil Kumar said that no Indian should be worried about the situation in Nepal. He said that there is no unpleasant news from anywhere. The border is completely safe. He himself said that he would take stock of the security arrangements at the open border as well as the Jogbani main border along with the SP. On the question of evacuating the Indian citizens stranded in Nepal, he said that every possible effort is being made by the Indian Embassy in Nepal.

Araria Superintendent of Police Anjani Kumar also said that the border adjoining the district is completely safe. He said that the security personnel and police jawans are fully alert. Amidst all this, in the advisory issued by the Government of India, Indians have been appealed not to enter Nepal until the situation becomes completely normal.
