Uttarakhand / Gopeshwar: A case of death during delivery has come to light in Gopeshwar District Hospital. The family members have accused the medical staff of negligence in the matter. After the death of the woman, the city residents reached the district hospital and protested and raised slogans. Taking cognizance of the incident, the DM has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
After the news of the woman's death on Sunday, the city residents reached the district hospital and created a ruckus over this negligence. They raised slogans demanding action against the doctors responsible for this negligence. Pradeep Singh, husband of the deceased 30-year-old Meena Devi, a resident of Bachher village of Dasholi block, says that when his wife had labor pains around 9:30 pm on Saturday night, he took her to the hospital. Where the doctors said that her delivery was normal. During the delivery, he was also called to the labor room once, at that time his wife was crying in pain, he also talked to her. After that she was sent out. But after some time it was told that his wife died due to cardiac arrest caused by increased blood pressure.
He said that when he was talking to her normally some time back, then such an incident suddenly shows the negligence of the doctors. After the incident, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Abhishek Gupta said that after the birth of the child, the woman's blood pressure suddenly increased and her heart stopped due to which she died.
District Magistrate Dr. Sandeep Tiwari has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the matter, while the hospital administration has also formed a team of doctors and started investigating the matter. Sandeep Jhikwan, Naval Bhatt, Congress city president Yogendra Bisht, Usha Rawat, Laxman Singh, Manoj Bisht etc. were present in the protest.
