To strengthen the financial position of states and accelerate development activities, the Central Government released an additional tax devolution amount of ₹1,09,019 crore on August 1, 2026. This amount is separate from the regular monthly tax share scheduled for release on August 10, 2026.
The government states that this advance release will provide states with greater financial resources for sectors such as roads, health, education, irrigation, drinking water, infrastructure, and other development schemes.
