Ranchi: In the case of gang rape of a minor returning home from tuition, the court of special judge of POCSO Act convicted the accused Ramchandra Gop and Dilip Tomsoi and sentenced them to life imprisonment. That is, the culprits will have to serve the remaining time of their natural life in jail. Along with this, a fine of Rs 50,000 each has also been imposed on both. The court has sentenced both of them under the section of POCSO Act. Both were convicted on July 5. The incident is of 7 May 2022. The victim, who lives in Nagdi police station area, was returning home from tuition class at 5 pm that day, as soon as she reached near the petrol pump located at Mahuvatoli.
The accused forcibly picked her up and took her on a bike to a house under construction in Dumratoli and raped her one by one. On the third day of the incident, the victim lodged an FIR in Nagdi police station. The case of Sunil Kujur, an accused in the case, is going on separately. Solid testimony was recorded by the prosecution. On the basis of which the court found him guilty and awarded him severe punishment.
