Ranchi Immersed in Devotion; Wave of Faith Surges at Jagannathpur Rath Yatra

Ranchi: A magnificent confluence of reverence, devotion, and enthusiasm was witnessed on Thursday at Ranchi's historic and world-renowned Jagannathpur Rath Yatra. Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra departed for Mausibari aboard a grand chariot. The atmosphere across the fairgrounds became charged with devotion, filled with chants of "Jai Jagannath," *bhajans* (devotional songs), and a massive crowd of devotees.
The district administration made extensive arrangements regarding security and amenities for the Rath Yatra. Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri and Senior Superintendent of Police Rakesh Ranjan were personally present at the fairgrounds to oversee operations. Continuous monitoring of the entire fair was conducted via CCTV cameras from the control room located within the temple complex, with necessary instructions issued to officials from time to time.
To ensure the safety of devotees, a large number of magistrates, police personnel, female police officers, traffic police, Quick Response Teams (QRTs), medical teams, fire brigades, and other essential service personnel were deployed. The administration accorded top priority to security, traffic management, sanitation, drinking water, and medical facilities.
Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri directed that the same level of vigilance be maintained throughout the fair—which runs until July 25—and during the *Ghurti Rath Yatra* (return procession), ensuring the safety and convenience of devotees so that all religious events proceed in a peaceful and orderly manner.
