BJYM Launches Major Offensive Against Alleged JPSC Irregularities; Announces Siege of JPSC Office on July 22

Ranchi: Raising serious questions about the functioning of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC), the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) has accused the commission of corruption, lack of transparency, and irregularities. State President Shashank Raj, speaking at a press conference at the state office, stated that the JPSC has ceased to be a commission that provides employment and has instead become an institution that "trades in employment."

He alleged that the recently released exam results were published without the signatures of all commission members, casting doubt on the entire selection process. He questioned under which rule the results were issued when the signatures of three members were missing.

The BJYM has announced a three-phase agitation against the JPSC. A state-wide social media campaign will be conducted on July 20, torchlight processions will be held across Jharkhand on July 21, and on July 22, a march and siege of the JPSC office—titled "Chalo JPSC Gherte Hain" (Let's Lay Siege to JPSC)—will take place, starting from Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium. A "JPSC Cleanup Campaign" was also announced during this period.

Shashank Raj stated that this agitation is not against any individual but against the allegedly corrupt system. He affirmed that the BJYM would vigorously fight for the rights of the state's lakhs of aspirants.

He further alleged that the commission does not allow candidates to inspect their answer sheets under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, nor does it upload answer sheets to a public portal or make cut-off marks public. Additionally, exam results are released late at night, and no regular examination calendar is issued, causing distress to the candidates.

The BJYM also demanded that the state government raise the maximum age limit for government jobs. Shashank Raj noted that while states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh have higher age limits, candidates in Jharkhand are being deprived of opportunities due to the lower age limit. He warned that if the JPSC is not made transparent, accountable, and fair, the democratic movement of the youth will be intensified.

State Vice President Rahul Chaudhary, State Media In-charge Prince Kumar, and State Spokesperson Baban Baitha were also present at the press conference.
