Teachers Should Demonstrate the Conduct They Expect From Students: DC Dr. Tarachand

DC addresses students, urges responsible use of the internet

Lohardaga, 14 Nov 2025:
As part of the 25th Foundation Day celebrations of Jharkhand, the Education Department organised dance, singing, drama and story-telling competitions, while ITDA Lohardaga conducted awareness programmes on the eradication of child marriage and witch-hunting practices.

Addressing students at the programme held at Nagar Bhawan, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Tarachand said that in today’s era, every individual has access to digital resources and information. Students can find detailed explanations on any topic and access lectures by teachers from anywhere through online platforms, especially YouTube. He advised students to use the internet wisely and responsibly.

The DC stated that although machines were created by humans, today humans have become heavily dependent on machines. “Technology is influencing our daily routine. It is important to keep this under control,” he said.

Dr. Tarachand urged students to recognise their inner potential like Lord Hanuman and channel their energy in the right direction. He added that although the form of education has changed over the years, many traditional principles remain relevant.
“Students follow the conduct of their teachers. Therefore, teachers must demonstrate the behaviour they wish to see in their students. A disciplined life of teachers inspires disciplined students,” he said. He encouraged students to set high standards so that they can represent the nation at international platforms.

Oath Administered

During the programme, the Deputy Commissioner administered an oath to all students, teachers and officials to prevent child marriage, to report any such case in their families or neighbourhood, and to ensure the safety and education of all children.
Another oath was administered for contributing to the continued development and progress of Jharkhand as the state completes 25 years of its formation.

Senior officials present included Deputy Development Commissioner Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat, ITDA Project Director Sushma Neelam Soreng, District Education Officer Das Sunanda Chandramouleshwor, and District Superintendent of Education Abhijeet Kumar.
