Jharkhand/Ranchi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Jagat Prakash Nadda has appointed Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu as the Working President of the Jharkhand State BJP. Sahu has replaced Ravindra Kumar Rai as the Working President of the Jharkhand BJP.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made a major organizational change in Jharkhand, appointing Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu as the Working President of the State BJP. Aditya Sahu's appointment to the post of State Working President is effective immediately. He succeeds Ravindra Rai, who was appointed Working President during the Assembly elections. National Secretary Arun Singh issued a letter in this regard on Friday.
Aditya Sahu was appointed in-charge of the Kolhan division during the Jharkhand Assembly elections. In 2022, he was nominated to the Rajya Sabha from Jharkhand by BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh. He was subsequently elected unopposed. Prior to this new responsibility, he served the party as the General Secretary of the Jharkhand State BJP. Currently, Dr. Ravindra Kumar Roy, a former MP from Koderma, was serving as the Jharkhand BJP's state executive president. He was appointed to this position just before the 2024 assembly elections.
Aditya Sahu, a resident of Ormanjhi in Ranchi district, has a journey from a professor to a successful politician. He is considered a grassroots leader with a strong organizational skills and a commitment to the party's ideology. Currently, as a Rajya Sabha MP, he is raising Jharkhand's issues at the national level.
Aditya Sahu holds a Master's degree in Commerce (M.Com). Until 2019, he was a professor at Ram Tahal Choudhary College. He has been a member of the BJP for the past two decades. He served as a leader of the state BJP unit since 2019. In 2022, he was elected to the Rajya Sabha.
Aditya Sahu was born on July 1, 1964, in Kuchu village, Ormanjhi, Ranchi district, Jharkhand. Aditya Sahu is a highly educated individual, having completed his studies at Ranchi University. Before entering politics, he worked as a professor at Ranchi University.
Aditya Sahu's political career began in student politics. During his student days, he was an active and prominent member of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). It was here that he learned the qualities of organization and leadership.
Aditya Sahu worked for a long time in the Bharatiya Janata Party organization. He also held the important position of State General Secretary of the Jharkhand BJP. In this role, he made significant contributions to strengthening the party in the state. During his political career, he was also appointed Chairman of the Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board (JSPCB).
In 2022, the Bharatiya Janata Party nominated him as its candidate for the Rajya Sabha from Jharkhand. He was elected unopposed in this election and became a member of the upper house of Parliament (Rajya Sabha).
