Jharkhand/Ranchi: The Jharkhand government has decided to appoint outgoing Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari as State Election Commissioner. Tiwari retired today, September 30 (Tuesday). She was given a warm farewell at 5 p.m. at Project Bhawan in the presence of Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
During the farewell ceremony, Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced that Alka Tiwari would be the next State Election Commissioner. He stated that an official order would be issued soon. The post of State Election Commissioner had been vacant since the end of former Chief Secretary DK Tiwari's tenure.
