If we buy indigenous goods, no one can stop India from becoming the world's third largest economy: Amit Shah

Gujarat/Gandhinagar: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah has appealed to the countrymen not to buy a single foreign product and bring it home. He said that if the countrymen start buying only indigenous goods, no one can stop India from becoming the world's third largest economy. Shah expressed happiness that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has removed the tax on food items in GST and halved the tax on all farmers' goods. He was addressing an event organized in Gandhinagar district of Gujarat on Tuesday night.

Earlier, Shah inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of development projects worth Rs 144 crore at the Bharatmata Town Hall in Kalol, Gandhinagar district. He told the gathering, "As an MP, I am not able to devote much time to Kalol. But I can definitely say that after I complete 10 years, you all have every right to settle the accounts." In these 10 years, if any parliamentary constituency across the country has seen the most development work, it must have been in Gandhinagar. The responsibility for this lies with me and my colleagues." Calling for a joyous Diwali celebration, he once again appealed to everyone to contribute to strengthening the country's economy by adopting Swadeshi. Gandhinagar District BJP President Anilbhai Patel, Gandhinagar South MLA Alpeshbhai Thakor, Amul Chairman Ashokbhai Chaudhary, Gandhinagar Collector Mehul K. Dave, and others were present at the event.

Kalol Municipality to Transform

Shah inaugurated five projects worth approximately ₹53 crore for the Kalol Municipality area. These include a water treatment plant costing ₹35 crore, the construction of the Jyoteshwar Pond costing ₹11 crore, and a night shelter. In addition, sanitation equipment and various borewells have been completed and were inaugurated today. Additionally, several other projects worth ₹91 crore were initiated under the Golden Jubilee Chief Minister's Development Scheme and AUDA grants.

Amit Shah stated that a plan has been developed to develop Kalol into a model assembly constituency by 2029, coordinating rural and urban areas. Construction of a massive 350-bed hospital with state-of-the-art facilities has begun in Kalol. It will be ready in two years. This hospital will have world-class equipment and the best doctors. The hospital's pathology lab will be even better than Ahmedabad's Civil Hospital. Free treatment up to ₹10 lakh will be available at this hospital under the Ayushman Bharat card and Gujarat government cards.
