According to official sources, the ACB team arrived at Vinay Singh's home, showroom, and six other locations on Sunday morning to conduct raids. The raids are being conducted in connection with a case of illegal land registration in Hazaribagh.
ADG Priya Dubey confirmed the raids
On September 25, the ACB arrested Vinay Kumar Singh, owner of Nexgen Automobiles, in connection with the illegal registration of forest land in Hazaribagh. Vinay Kumar Singh is accused of conspiring with government officials to illegally register land for non-cultivable land and forest-shrub land. Case number 11/25 has been registered at the ACB Hazaribagh police station.
According to information received from the ACB, this case of illegal mortgage dates back to 2013, when the District Magistrate's office in Hazaribagh cancelled the illegal mortgages of five plots. This decision was upheld by the Revenue and Land Reforms Department, Government of Jharkhand, the same year. However, according to letter number 2612, dated December 5, 2012, from the Forest Division Officer, Hazaribagh East Forest Division, it was clarified that any non-forestry work or encroachment on notified forest land is a violation of the Indian Forest Act, 1927, and the Forest Conservation Act, 1980. The letter also cited the Supreme Court's December 12, 1996, order in the case of T. Godavarman vs. Union of India, which stated that prior permission from the Government of India was required for non-forestry use of forest land.
