The Chief Minister said that this year has been extremely painful for the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) family. Earlier this year, the party lost its guiding leader Guruji Shibu Soren, and soon after, Ghatshila MLA and Minister Ramdas Soren also passed away. It is because of his demise that this by-election is being held. He said this by-election will determine the direction and destiny of Ghatshila.
Hemant Soren reminded the people that the state of Jharkhand was not a gift from anyone but was achieved through the struggles and sacrifices of thousands. However, after its formation, power went into the hands of those who promoted destruction instead of development. He said, “If we want to save Jharkhand, we must remove the BJP from power,” accusing the BJP of silencing the voices of the people.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the JMM alliance government is a government of the poor, laborers, farmers, and common people. He highlighted that the government has waived electricity bills and provided 200 units of free power. To empower women, under the ‘Maiyya Yojana,’ financial assistance of ₹2,500 per month is being given.
In her address, Kalpana Soren paid tribute to Guruji Shibu Soren and Ramdas Soren, stating that the people of Jharkhand have shown immense faith in the JMM, and the government is working tirelessly to strengthen that trust. She said that the state has seen remarkable progress in education, health, women’s empowerment, and employment, and that the pace of development will only accelerate in the coming days.
Both the Chief Minister and Kalpana Soren appealed to the public to unite on the issues of sympathy and development and ensure the victory of Somesh Chandra Soren. The Chief Minister added that Somesh is a young man deeply connected to the soil of this land and will fulfill the unfulfilled dreams of Ramdas Soren while living up to the people’s expectations.
Several ministers, MLAs, and MPs of the state government were also present at the public meeting.
