Raipur, September 24, 2026: On the occasion of Ganeshotsav being accorded the status of a state festival, a special cultural programme titled “Shri Ganesh in Folk Art” was organised in Raipur by the Directorate of Cultural Affairs under the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Maharashtra.
The programme was held on Wednesday, September 23, at Maharashtra Mandal in G.E. Road, Chaubey Colony, Raipur. Artists from Bhairi Bhavani Performing Arts presented colourful performances featuring folk dance, traditional art, music and devotional expressions dedicated to Lord Ganesha.
The programme aimed to showcase Maharashtra’s rich folk art, traditions and cultural heritage beyond the state. Office-bearers and members of Maharashtra Mandal, along with Maharashtra culture enthusiasts, attended the event.
Maharashtra Mandal President Ajay Madhukar Kale, Vice-President Geeta Shyam Dalal and Secretary Chetan Dandwate extended their support for the successful organisation of the programme. Raipur MP Agrawal also congratulated the organisers and appreciated the initiative to promote Maharashtra’s folk art and cultural traditions.
The programme was organised under the vision of Cultural Affairs, Electronics, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence Minister Advocate Ashish Shelar, and under the guidance of Cultural Affairs Department Secretary Dr. Kiran Kulkarni.
Director of Cultural Affairs Prashant Khedekar thanked the office-bearers of Maharashtra Mandal, participating artists and the audience for their support in making the programme successful.
