Major Decision by a Compassionate Government – Little Yamika’s Life to be Saved with ₹15 Crore
Ranchi, April 16, 2026: Setting a shining example of humanity, the Jharkhand government has sanctioned financial assistance of ₹15 crore for the medical treatment of Yamika Patel, a young girl from Giridih. The child suffers from the rare condition Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type-1, the treatment for which is extremely expensive. Taking the matter with utmost seriousness, Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari took immediate initiative and placed the case before Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Following the Cabinet's approval, hopes for saving the child's life have now strengthened. The family has expressed its deep gratitude to the government.
