₹7.64 Lakhs in Fines Levied on 24 Vehicles During Inspection Drive; Strict Enforcement of Road Safety Norms
Acting on the directives of the Ranchi District Administration, a comprehensive vehicle inspection drive was conducted across the Nagri, Namkum, and Bero police station areas. Under the supervision of District Transport Officer Akhilesh Kumar, the documents of a total of 153 vehicles were scrutinized. During this exercise, checks were conducted regarding compliance with regulations concerning taxes, vehicle fitness, insurance, PUC (Pollution Under Control) certificates, permits, and overloading.
The inspection revealed that 24 vehicles were found to be in violation of traffic regulations, resulting in the imposition of total fines amounting to ₹7,64,154.
Additionally, a road safety awareness program was organized at Symbiosis Public School in Bundu, where students were educated on traffic rules and the critical importance of wearing helmets and seat belts.
