The country's first multimodal transport hub is ready in Ahmedabad

Gujarat/Ahmedabad: The country's first multimodal transport hub has been completed in Sabarmati, Ahmedabad. This state-of-the-art building is part of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (Bullet Train) project and will provide passengers with access to the railway station, metro, Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS), and bullet train from a single complex, providing seamless connectivity.

The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has also provided space for commercial activities at this hub. Based on the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this project is set to redefine the transportation system in India.

The building's design blends modernity and history. A large stainless steel mural on its facade depicts the historic Dandi March movement from Sabarmati. The landscaped area of the hub is adorned with indigenous plants and an attractive step garden, enhancing its beauty.

The concourse floor on the third floor of the hub is equipped with amenities for passengers. It features waiting rooms, retail shops, a large food court, and restaurants. Two blocks have been constructed on the top floor of the building. Block A will house a six-story office complex, while Block B will house a hotel. This hotel will feature modern amenities such as a banquet hall, conference room, swimming pool, and restaurant.

For passenger convenience, the hub has a parking capacity of approximately 1,300 vehicles. Separate pickup and drop lanes have been created for buses, autos, two-wheelers, and taxis, making it easier to manage traffic.

The hub's biggest attraction is its connectivity. The bullet train platform will be just 150 meters away, while the railway station is 300 meters, the metro station is 700 meters, and the airport is 7 kilometers away. The BRTS station will also be just 150 meters away. This will provide passengers with access to all modes of transport from a single location.

According to the Corporation, the hub complies with green building standards. It features solar panels on its terraces, energy-saving equipment, natural light utilization, and extensive landscaping. These features will reduce energy consumption and provide passengers with a natural environment. This multimodal hub will reshape India's transportation system and provide world-class amenities to travelers.
