Ranchi: There was chaos in the Morhabadi area of the capital Ranchi on Wednesday night when the Municipal Corporation team started the action of removing encroachment. Temporary structures and carts around Birsa Munda Football Stadium and Army Ground were demolished, which caused anger among the shopkeepers. According to the local people, the enforcement team of the Municipal Corporation arrived at around 11 pm without any prior information and started demolishing many shops and carts. About half a dozen carts were seized and the fruits, vegetables and other goods kept in the shops were damaged.

Shopkeepers started protesting angrily against this sudden action. People kept raising slogans till 1 am and some women even climbed on the administration's vehicle. The shopkeepers alleged that if they were informed in advance, they would have removed their shops. But suddenly taking away the goods and causing damage in this way is absolutely wrong. Some women also received minor injuries during the uproar. To protest, many women and men reached Morhabadi police station around 12:30 pm and lodged their complaint.
