Hindpirhi Station In-charge unable to name his own OD officer; SSP issues show-cause notice
Ranchi. With the aim of further streamlining the police system in the capital, Ranchi's Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), accompanied by the City SP, conducted surprise inspections of various police stations, night patrol units, and key security installations late Tuesday night. During the inspection, a case of serious negligence came to light at the Hindpirhi police station. The officer on OD (Officer of the Day) duty was not in uniform, and—most surprisingly—the Station In-charge could not even name the OD officer on duty.
In view of this serious indiscipline, the SSP issued a show-cause notice to the Hindpirhi Station In-charge. Simultaneously, PCR vans deployed in different parts of the city were inspected, and their operational readiness was assessed.
During the inspection, the performance of guards stationed at critical security installations was also evaluated to ensure there were no lapses in the security arrangements. On the other hand, the SSP openly commended the police personnel who were performing their duties with diligence and integrity.
At the conclusion of the inspection, the SSP instructed all police officers and personnel to remain fully alert, provide all possible assistance to the public, and ensure strict action against those who disrupt law and order or create a nuisance at night.
