NEET-PG 2026 Successfully Conducted Across India; Re-Exam for 2,445 Jaipur Candidates on September 5
New Delhi, August 30, 2026: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) successfully conducted the NEET-PG 2026 examination across the country today, August 30, 2026, with extensive logistical, technical, security and manpower arrangements to ensure a fair, safe and smooth examination process.
The examination was scheduled for 2,73,096 candidates across 1,111 examination centres in 339 cities covering all 36 States and Union Territories. A total of 2,65,980 candidates appeared for the examination, of whom the examination was successfully completed for approximately 2,63,535 candidates.
Extensive real-time monitoring and stringent security measures were implemented throughout the nationwide examination. A total of 2,527 faculty members were appointed as independent appraisers to monitor the conduct of the examination. More than 700 senior faculty members, including Deans, Directors, Medical Superintendents and senior professors, were deployed as members of flying squads.
To strengthen coordination and monitoring, 16 NBEMS Regional Command Centres were made operational across the country.
All examination centres were also placed under live CCTV surveillance and continuously monitored from the NBEMS Command Centre at its Dwarka headquarters. A dedicated team of 190 personnel from NBEMS and TCS was deployed for real-time monitoring and supervision.
At the dedicated Command Centre at the NBEMS headquarters, officials from NBEMS, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, BEL, ECIL and TCS closely monitored the examination process throughout the day.
As part of enhanced security and anti-fraud measures, Aadhaar-based authentication of candidates was successfully carried out at the examination centres. Government agencies extended full support for the safe and orderly conduct of the examination.
However, an unexpected technical disruption occurred at the iON Digital Zone (IDZ) Sitapura examination centre in Jaipur, Rajasthan, at TC Nos. 41682 and 41683. Due to internal power supply issues at the examination centres, attributed to the examination conducting agency, TCS Limited, the examination could not be completed for 2,445 candidates.
NBEMS expressed deep regret over the inconvenience caused to the affected candidates and took immediate steps to ensure that they are provided a fair and adequate opportunity to appear for NEET-PG 2026.
Accordingly, a re-examination for all affected candidates will be conducted on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 3:00 PM in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Details of the venue and other examination-related instructions will be communicated separately to the concerned candidates.
The successful conduct of the examination at 1,111 centres across 339 cities reflects extensive coordination among examination officials, medical institutions, faculty members, security agencies, technology teams and other stakeholders involved in the nationwide exercise.
NBEMS appreciated the cooperation, patience and trust of the candidates and acknowledged the dedicated efforts of all personnel and institutions involved in the conduct of NEET-PG 2026.
