Chamber Election Nomination Process to Begin on August 31; Nominations Can Be Filed Until 4 PM on September 1
Ranchi, August 30, 2026: The nomination process for the 2026-27 elections of the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries will begin on August 31, 2026. Members interested in contesting for the Executive Committee and Regional Vice President posts can file their nominations from office hours on August 31 until 4 PM on September 1, 2026.
After the nomination period ends, scrutiny of nomination papers will begin at 4 PM on September 1, followed by the release of the list of valid candidates. The last date for withdrawal of nominations has been fixed for September 3, 2026, until 3 PM.
Election Officer Anchal Kinger said that all candidates must submit a valid DIN (Director Identification Number) along with their nomination forms. Nominations without a valid DIN will not be accepted. Candidates must also duly fill and attach the prescribed Form DIR-2 and Form DIR-8 of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs with their nomination papers.
He said that only members who have completed at least one year of membership in the Chamber will be eligible to contest the election. Only direct members of the Chamber will be accepted as proposers and seconders in the nomination forms.
Election Officer Pawan Sharma said that only lifetime members who became members at least 30 days before the 62nd Annual General Meeting scheduled for September 12, 2026, will be eligible to vote in the election. For other categories of members, a minimum membership period of 90 days has been prescribed.
Nomination forms for the Executive Committee and Regional Vice President posts can be submitted at the Chamber office in a sealed envelope along with a non-refundable fee of Rs 5,000 plus 18% GST, amounting to a total of Rs 5,900.
The 62nd Annual General Meeting of the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries will be held on September 12, 2026, while the election for the 2026-27 session will be conducted on September 13, 2026, at Marwari Bhawan, Harmu Road, Ranchi.
