🗳️ Big news for urban voters!
Special BLO camps to be held at polling stations on July 18 and 20.
Ranchi: Jharkhand's Chief Electoral Officer, K. Ravi Kumar, reviewed the special revision of the electoral roll via a video conference with all District Election Officers. He stated that enumeration forms have reached 96% of voters in the state; to reach the remaining 4%—particularly those in urban areas—special BLO camps will be organized at polling stations on July 18 and 20.
BLO-level officers (BLOs), BLO supervisors, help-desk managers, and volunteers will be present at these camps to assist voters in obtaining and immediately submitting their enumeration forms. Voters currently residing outside the area of their designated polling station are advised to contact the BLO associated with the polling station listed on their voter ID card.
The Chief Electoral Officer issued clear instructions ensuring that "not a single eligible Indian citizen is left out of the electoral roll, and no ineligible person is included." He announced that a meeting of BLOs and BLAs (Booth Level Agents-2) is scheduled for August 22, and prescribed forms for preparing the ASDD list are being sent to all districts. These forms include separate annexures for categories such as Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate, and Refused to Sign (Foreigner).
He noted that in rural areas, BLOs will continue the practice of visiting households to distribute and collect forms, whereas the special camps are being organized exclusively for urban areas.
