Robust road network to be laid in Jharkhand; development to gain new momentum: CM Hemant Soren
CM issues strict directives at a high-level review meeting of the Road Construction Department; geo-tagging and regular monitoring of every project made mandatory
Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren held a high-level review meeting of the Road Construction Department at the Jharkhand Mantralaya on Wednesday. During the meeting, he stated that a robust and extensive network of roads, flyovers, and bridges is being developed in the state; this will accelerate Jharkhand's development and provide citizens with better connectivity and commuting facilities.
A detailed presentation was given regarding the work completed by the department over the last five years, ongoing projects, and future plans. The Chief Minister directed officials to complete all projects within the stipulated timeframes and to expedite pending works.
The Chief Minister emphasized that maintaining a digital database and implementing geo-tagging for every road and bridge project must be mandatory to ensure transparent monitoring and the swift resolution of any grievances.
He instructed officials to take immediate cognizance of and action on complaints appearing in the media and on social media regarding roads, potholes, waterlogging, and construction quality. In view of the monsoon season, he directed that top priority be given to road repairs, drainage systems, and the quality of construction work.
The Chief Minister ordered the widening of narrow roads and the acceleration of work on flyovers and bridges currently under construction, as well as the completion of all key projects across the state—including those in the capital, Ranchi—on a priority basis. He clearly stated that a superior road network would become the hallmark of the state's development and economic progress.
Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, Road Construction Department Secretary Sunil Kumar, Engineer-in-Chief Pravin Jayant Bhengra, and other senior departmental officials were present at the meeting.
