New Delhi/Ranchi: Jharkhand showcased its rich handloom and textile heritage impressively at Bharat Tex 2026, held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. While inaugurating the Jharkhand Pavilion, Industries Minister Sanjay Prasad Yadav stated that securing 'local to global' recognition for the state's traditional products is a priority for the government. He added that by gaining international recognition for Jharkhand's rich handloom heritage, new employment opportunities would be created within the state, ensuring that the youth do not have to migrate elsewhere for work.

The Minister remarked that Bharat Tex 2026 serves as a crucial platform to connect Jharkhand's weavers and artisans with national and international markets. This initiative will provide the state's textile industry with a new identity within the global value chain and open up fresh investment opportunities.

At the Jharkhand Pavilion, six GI-tagged handloom products from the state drew significant attention from both domestic and international buyers. The showcased items included Tasar Silk, Kuchai Silk, Bhagaiya Saree and fabric, Tumka Chadar, Bhoya Saree and fabric, and Panchhi Saree and fabric. These products brought global recognition to Jharkhand's traditional craftsmanship, the talent of its weavers, and its rich textile culture.

Minister Sanjay Prasad Yadav stated that the state government aims to take Jharkhand's handloom products beyond national borders to international markets, thereby increasing weavers' incomes and strengthening the state's economy.

Senior officials from the department, including Industries Department Director Vishal Sagar and Additional Secretary Preeti, were present at the event. The gathering saw the participation of manufacturers, exporters, global buyers, investors, policymakers, and a large number of representatives associated with the handloom sector from across the country and abroad.
