Ranchi, October 6, 2026: In view of the international T20 cricket match between India and West Indies scheduled at JSCA Stadium on October 9, Ranchi Traffic Police has issued a special traffic advisory to regulate vehicle movement, parking and traffic congestion around the stadium.
Heavy goods vehicles will be restricted from entering designated routes from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM on October 9. Normal traffic movement from Shalimar Chowk to the North Gate of JSCA Stadium will also remain restricted, except for essential services such as ambulances and medical vehicles.
The movement of goods vehicles, autos, e-rickshaws and passenger vehicles will be restricted on several important stretches, including Sujata Chowk, Big Bazaar Cutting, Rajendra Chowk, Mecon Chowk, AG More, PNT More, Ilex Cutting, Hindu Chowk, Birsa Chowk, NHAI Gate, Old Assembly, Dhurwa Golchakkar, Shaheed Chowk, Devendra Manjhi Chowk, Kadru Bridge, Kadru Cutting and Argora Chowk. Traffic may also be diverted or stopped on other routes whenever required.
Special Parking Arrangements
Spectators holding South Gate and South-East Gate tickets can park their vehicles at Prabhat Tara Maidan via Dhurwa Golchakkar, Jawahar Stadium and Miya Market and proceed to the stadium on foot.
Those holding West Gate tickets can use parking facilities at Rajendra Maidan, approaching via Dhurwa Golchakkar, Veer Kunwar Singh Chowk, Dhurwa Bus Stand or Sacro Camp More.
People arriving via New Sarai Ring Road can park at the Helipad Ground parking area opposite the High Court and proceed on foot towards the stadium through Tirild More and the JSCA North Gate.
Parking facilities for general vehicles have also been identified at Sukhua Bagan, Dhurwa Golchakkar Maidan, DAV School Ground, Jawahar Lal Stadium Parking, Miya Market, St. Thomas School, Prabhat Tara Maidan, Shaheed Maidan and Helipad Maidan.
After the match, traffic may be diverted along routes including Shalimar Bazaar–Mausibari Golchakkar, HEC Gate–Birsa Chowk, Hindu Chowk–Rajendra Chowk, Big Bazaar and Sujata Chowk, depending on traffic conditions. Alternative routes have also been suggested for commuters travelling towards different areas.
Ranchi Traffic Police has appealed to citizens to avoid using private vehicles on restricted routes and use four-wheelers only when necessary. Citizens have also been urged to cooperate with the traffic arrangements to ensure smooth movement during the match.
