NHM Jharkhand, Piramal Foundation Sign Three-Year MoU to Strengthen Healthcare Services

Ranchi, October 6, 2026: The National Health Mission (NHM), Jharkhand and Piramal Foundation have signed a three-year non-financial Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen technical cooperation and field implementation in the state’s healthcare sector. The MoU was signed by Health Director Dr. Prabhat Kumar on behalf of NHM Jharkhand and Piramal Foundation CXO Akshat Shukla at the NHM office in Ranchi. Under the agreement, Piramal Foundation will provide technical support in key areas including maternal health and maternity care, child health, procurement, finance, supply chain management, human resources and communicable disease programmes such as tuberculosis, kala-azar, filariasis and malaria. The foundation will also support field implementation in 11 targeted districts and strengthen outreach activities through health centres, Village Health and Nutrition Days (VHNDs) and Sahiyas. The agreement will remain effective for three years and may be extended by mutual consent. 


Senior NHM officials, including Campaign Director Shashi Prakash Jha, Administrative Officer Kewal Krishna Agarwal and Director Finance Gufran Ahmad, along with Piramal Foundation’s Jharkhand State Representative and Team Lead Neeraj Kumar, programme directors and senior programme managers, attended the MoU signing ceremony. The partnership is expected to improve the quality, accessibility and effectiveness of healthcare services while strengthening Jharkhand’s health system at both technical and field levels.
