Ranchi, October 6, 2026: Newly appointed BJP Jharkhand in-charge and National General Secretary Gajendra Singh Patel strongly criticised the Hemant Soren-led government during his first press conference at the BJP state office, raising questions over corruption, law and order, women’s safety, employment, recruitment examinations and alleged infiltration. Referring to his two-day visit to Jharkhand, Patel alleged that the JMM-Congress-RJD government, in power since 2019, had failed to fulfil its development promises and that people remained deprived of basic facilities such as healthcare, education, roads, electricity, drinking water and irrigation. He also alleged irregularities in the handling of sand, coal, stone and other mineral resources, as well as the DMFT fund.

Patel also raised the issue of alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations including JPSC, JSSC-CGL, Excise Constable and PGT, claiming that such controversies had affected the future of young people. He questioned the government over law and order and women’s safety and also criticised its approach towards alleged infiltration and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Patel said the BJP would continue to raise issues concerning the public and workers and take up matters related to the state government’s policies on the streets as well as in the Assembly. He also announced programmes including the ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ and ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha’. State BJP President Aditya Sahu, Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi, former Chief Minister Raghubar Das, State Co-in-charges Saurabh Singh and Nivedita Singh, among others, were present at the press conference.
