Jharkhand Chamber Office-Bearers Meet Governor, Discuss Investment, Employment and Economic Development

Ranchi, October 1, 2026: The newly elected office-bearers of the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries met Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar at Lok Bhavan on Thursday. The meeting covered various issues related to trade, industry, investment, employment and economic development in the state.


The Chamber delegation submitted a memorandum to the Governor, stressing the need for better law and order and a business-friendly environment to accelerate investment and industrial development. It also suggested a comprehensive review of the existing trade licence system and reducing unnecessary procedural complexities for traders.


The delegation emphasised strengthening MSMEs and local entrepreneurs, providing local businesses greater opportunities in government procurement, and promoting skill development, internships and employment-oriented training for youth.


The Chamber also raised concerns over increasing holding tax and suggested expanding the tax base by bringing more taxpayers into the system. Other suggestions included promoting women entrepreneurship, mineral-based value-added industries, agriculture and food-processing industries, and branding and market expansion for local products from rural and tribal areas.


Tourism and religious facilities were also discussed. The Chamber suggested permanent tourist police arrangements at and around Baba Baidyanath Dham and setting up a tourist police station near the temple to ensure quick resolution of tourists’ complaints and problems.


Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar congratulated the newly elected executive committee of the Chamber and emphasised the active role of the industry sector in the state’s economic and social development. He assured the delegation that the suggestions would be considered at the appropriate level and stressed the need for continued dialogue on development-related issues.


The delegation included Chamber President Tulsi Patel, Vice-President Vikas Vijayvargiya, General Secretary Rohit Agrawal, Joint Secretary Amit Sharma, Joint Secretary Pooja Dhadha, and Treasurer Navjot Alang. Governor’s Additional Chief Secretary Nitin Madan Kulkarni was also present.
