Ranchi, October 2, 2026: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren paid floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Bapu Vatika in Morabadi, Ranchi.
The Governor and Chief Minister garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and remembered his contribution to the nation.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that October 2 is a historic day for India and will always remain unforgettable. He said the thoughts and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi will continue to guide humanity for generations.
The Chief Minister said the state government is committed to following the principles of Mahatma Gandhi and working for the welfare and overall development of people at the last mile of society.
MP Sanjay Seth, Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji, MLA Kalpana Soren, administrative officials and other dignitaries were also present at the programme.
The Bapu Vatika premises resonated with Gandhi's favourite bhajans and patriotic songs during the tribute ceremony.
