Ranchi, October 8, 2026: The Akhil Bharatiya Swarn Morcha has demanded the implementation of economic reservation for all sections of society in addition to the existing caste-based reservation system. The organisation submitted a memorandum addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi through Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and the Ranchi Deputy Commissioner, highlighting various demands concerning the rights and welfare of the Swarn community.
Jharkhand Pradesh President of the Akhil Bharatiya Swarn Morcha, Rajesh Singh, said that the organisation has been raising issues concerning equal rights for the Swarn community since 2004. The memorandum called for equal representation for all sections of society in government laws, budgets and welfare schemes, while ensuring that economically weaker families are not deprived of opportunities because of their financial condition.
Among the key demands are the implementation of economic reservation for all in addition to caste-based reservation, formation of a National Swarn Commission, and establishment of a Swarn Commission in Jharkhand on the lines of Bihar. The organisation also demanded that families that have already benefited from reservation once should not be allowed to repeatedly avail themselves of the same benefits.
The Morcha further sought scholarships for poor and meritorious Swarn students, hostels for economically weaker students from the community and equal access to government welfare schemes. It also urged the government to take measures for poor, unemployed, landless and economically weaker families within the Swarn community.
The organisation appealed to the Central and Jharkhand governments to consider its demands and take appropriate steps to ensure equal opportunities and representation for all sections of society.
The memorandum was signed by Rajesh Singh, Jharkhand Pradesh President of the Akhil Bharatiya Swarn Morcha, along with other office-bearers and members of the organisation.
