Emphasis on Maintaining Smooth Supply Chain Ahead of Festive Season
Ranchi, September 21, 2026: A delegation of the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI), led by Chamber President Tulsi Patel, met the Ranchi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) on Monday and sought permission for three-wheeler goods vehicles engaged in the supply of essential commodities to operate during no-entry hours.
Tulsi Patel said that the two-hour no-entry restrictions in the morning and evening were causing considerable difficulties for small goods vehicles involved in the supply of essential commodities. With the festive season approaching, he stressed the need to ensure an uninterrupted supply chain in the city.
The Chamber President suggested that three-wheeler goods vehicles carrying essential commodities should be allowed to enter and operate during at least the evening no-entry period, subject to specified conditions and designated routes. This, he said, would help ensure that the supply of essential goods remains unaffected and prevent inconvenience to small traders and consumers.
During the meeting, the Ranchi SSP sought details of the routes witnessing heavy movement of goods vehicles and traffic congestion during the 5 pm to 7 pm no-entry period. He asked the Chamber to provide a list of such routes.
The SSP assured the delegation that after reviewing the routes provided by the Chamber and the traffic pressure in the concerned areas, the proposal to allow three-wheeler goods vehicles carrying essential commodities during the no-entry period would be considered appropriately.
