Ranchi, September 21, 2026: Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) Corporate Communications Head Alok Kumar Gupta has been promoted to the post of General Manager. As per the promotion order issued by Coal India Limited, Kolkata, a total of 14 officers have been promoted to the post of General Manager. Following his promotion, Gupta will continue to head the Corporate Communications department.
Known for his extensive experience in Human Resources, Administration, CSR, Corporate Communications and Public Relations, Alok Kumar Gupta has played an important role in bringing creativity and innovation to CCL's communication initiatives.
During his tenure, several initiatives were undertaken to strengthen CCL's corporate identity and give a new dimension to public relations. These include the design of the CCL logo and the organisation of the National PR Conclave-2025 in Jharkhand.
His other notable initiatives include the release of a Special Cover Stamp dedicated to coal warriors in collaboration with the Department of Posts, Wall Mural Painting for coal employees, and innovative campaigns such as “Kabाड़ Se Kanchan” and “War Against Wastage”. Creative approaches were also adopted to spread awareness during Vigilance Awareness Campaigns.
Gupta has also emphasised the use of technology, digital platforms and creative communication tools to effectively showcase CCL's achievements, initiatives and social responsibilities to the public.
Prior to joining CCL, Alok Kumar Gupta also served as Director in the Information and Public Relations Department of the Government of Jharkhand. His experience in government communication, combined with his work in corporate communications at CCL, has contributed to his role in developing innovative communication initiatives.
With his promotion as General Manager, Alok Kumar Gupta will now continue to lead CCL's Corporate Communications with a focus on creativity, innovation, digital outreach and effective public relations.
