Visakhapatnam, September 12, 2026: The three-day Tabletop Exercise (TTX), conducted under the Colombo Security Conclave (CSC), concluded successfully on Saturday at the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) in Visakhapatnam.
The exercise, which commenced on September 9, aimed to develop a coordinated response to illegal maritime activities in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). Delegations from CSC member and observer countries, along with maritime security experts, participated in intensive simulated operational scenarios for over 72 hours.
The discussions focused on addressing complex and non-traditional maritime security challenges, including maritime terrorism, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
Participants reviewed existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and discussed ways to streamline information-sharing mechanisms to strengthen collective Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA).
The exercise reaffirmed the CSC countries’ collective commitment to promoting peace, stability and prosperity in the Indian Ocean Region and was aligned with the MAHASAGAR (Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions) vision.
