Ranchi, September 17, 2026: The ‘Passenger Service Campaign 2026’ will be organised at Birsa Munda Airport, Ranchi, from September 17 to October 10, 2026, with the objective of providing better facilities and quality services to passengers. The campaign will focus on strengthening service, cleanliness, security, accessibility and courteous behaviour at the airport. Its central message is “Seva & Sankalp – Service with Smile.”
Addressing a press conference, Birsa Munda Airport Director Binod Kumar said that the objective of the campaign is not only to provide better facilities to passengers but also to continuously strengthen service standards, cleanliness, security, accessibility and courteous behaviour at the airport.
He said that various aspects related to passenger convenience would be reviewed every day during the campaign, with a different theme being taken up on each day.
The campaign will begin on September 17 with Vande Mataram, folk dance and cultural programmes. A Passenger Assistance Programme and Selfie with PM Booth will also be arranged to assist and engage passengers.
On September 18, special attention will be given to cleanliness at the approach road, entry area and forecourt. Lighting, façade, glass surfaces, dustbins and passenger movement areas will also be inspected.
September 19 will focus on parking and connectivity, including signage for taxis, autos, public transport and app-based cabs, as well as traffic management. On September 20, passenger seating arrangements will be reviewed, with special attention to priority seating for senior citizens and Persons with Reduced Mobility (PRM).
Under ‘Sugam Yatra’ on September 21, facilities for Divyangjan and senior citizens, including wheelchairs, ramps, lifts, accessible toilets and priority assistance, will be reviewed.
The campaign will also cover wayfinding and passenger information, baggage services, security and courtesy, drinking water facilities, and digital travel services such as Digi Yatra, free Wi-Fi, charging points and UPI/QR services.
On September 27, World Tourism Day, passengers will be welcomed in the spirit of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’. Jharkhand’s art, culture, handicrafts, ODOP products and tourism attractions will be showcased through cultural programmes. The initiative aims to present Birsa Munda Airport as an important gateway to Jharkhand’s rich culture and tourism.
On October 2, Gandhi Jayanti, the airport will observe Swachhata Diwas, with special cleanliness drives across the terminal, toilets and passenger-contact areas, along with waste segregation and Shramdaan activities.
Other activities during the campaign will include reviewing medical and emergency preparedness, training frontline staff in soft skills, courtesy, empathy and communication, and providing special assistance to UDAN passengers and first-time flyers.
On October 8, airlines, CISF, GHAs, housekeeping, transport agencies and other stakeholders will participate in a joint walk-through to identify passenger-related issues and determine responsibility for their resolution.
A Comprehensive Facility and Service Quality Audit will be conducted on October 9, covering cleanliness, seating, signage, drinking water, toilets, baggage services, digital facilities, F&B services, PRM facilities, parking, security and staff behaviour.
The campaign will conclude on October 10. Improvements achieved during the campaign, passenger feedback and best practices will be shared. Outstanding employees and stakeholders will also be recognised, while a Sustenance Plan will be implemented to ensure that the improvements continue.
Director Binod Kumar said that the aim is to ensure that the ‘Passenger Service Campaign 2026’ does not remain limited to a 24-day programme, but becomes part of a continuous work culture focused on providing better, more courteous and passenger-friendly services.
